Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations
A full comprehensive diagnostic evaluation to rule in or out autism and other related conditions (intellectual disability, ADHD, etc.) would include: birth and medical history, a developmental interview with the parents, cognitive/developmental testing, play session with the person or ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), an assessment of adaptive skills, and feedback and recommendations.
An evaluation can be done generally in one day (5 to 6 hours), depending on the severity of the case and the age of the child or young adult. This service is offered in the US, Latin America and Spain. No insurance is accepted for the time being, but we can work with you on fees that are reasonable for all. Words are helpful and, to that extent, a diagnosis can be helpful. "You name it, you tame it". This does not mean that a diagnosis defines us, more than a word would. Words and diagnoses are however helpful when communicating with others, for it will be much harder to meet our needs if we don't express them, as many parents of non-verbal people with autism know well.
